The dark void was where they were. Where they existed. Where they lived but it was because they’re parents were happy. Enjoying each other’s embrace. So close together that their children were stuck between them. Tanemahuta, Tangaroa, Tawhirimatea, Tumatauenga were stranded in the void. The children only wished to see some light. Something bright in the darkness.

  • The sons are sick of the darkness void.
Centuries past (they think) and slowly they were started to get irritated. Annoyed. They wanted to be released. They cried out to their parents to split apart so they could see light but their parents refused their pleas. So they started mustering up a plan to split them apart one way or another. Unknowingly upsetting one of their siblings.

  • Except for Tawhirimatea.
A certain siblings anger grew as he heard their plans. His name was Tawhirimatea, god of the winds. So in his rage he threw all his feelings of hatred, betrayal and more into words and made sure they heard him. Things like “THEY MADE YOU!!” and “HOW DARE YOU BETRAY OUR PARENTS LIKE THAT!!” or “I’M ASHAMED TO CALL YOU MY BROTHERS!!!”. Which instantly made the brothers incredibly guilty but nothing was changing their minds and  from then on Tawhirimatea had no input to their plan and lurked at the back seething in hatred.

  • Tanemahuta ended up pushing them apart creating light.

They all had their turns trying to push their parents apart but coming back unsuccessful. Until it came to Tanemahutas turn. He grounded his elbows into his mother then put his feet on his father above. Then started pushing with everything he had then they started feeling a change. With one final push Ranginui, their father, was pushed far away from his lover, Papatuanuku. Then light flooded the gods senses. They blinked in awe at the sunlight. The grass. The trees. They all thought it was a beautiful miracle except for one who was weeping at his parents calls of pain and agony.

  • Tawhirimatea was enraged and fought them for his parents.

So through the centuries Tawhirimatea fought for his parents with his winds. Creating storms. Trying to break down his brothers children. The sea creatures. The trees and plants. Everything. Just for his parents who have been crying for their lovers absence. Ranginuis cries were shown by his tears which were known as ‘rain’ to humans. Letting his agony be known to his lost love.

Reading

The name of the journal I read was called 'Looking cool'. It was published in 2006 by Learning media, Wellington.

The name of the story I read was named 'Tattoo'. The story was written by Helen Frances.

This story is based around a woman named Jolene Tempest. Its about her recommendation on tattoos and her some of her life.

this story reminds me of a T.V programme where this lady roams the world looking at different cultures involving tattoos.

Reading

The name of the journal that I read was a Kapa Haka Diary. This Journal was released in the 2000 and it was published by Learning Media, Wellington.

The whole book is a diary of a kids journey through their Kapa Haka experience. It was written by Shirley Cormack. The story talks about someones Kapa Haka group and their mentors.

This story reminds me of my Kapa Haka groups in Primary and intermediate. I think this is a good story but it could use a bit more text.

The Difference Between Formal And Informal Rules

Formal:

Formal is something like when it is mandatory and respectful to others. Like when you are at a workplace you are expected to wear a certain uniform and act a certain way to customers.

Informal:

Informal means like something that you can use / be when away from colleagues. Like when you are at home you can wear whatever you like and do whatever you desire.
