What you need:
50g sugar, 1 table of water, 2 tablespoons of golden syrup, 1 teaspoon of bicarbonate soda
Method:
- Put the ingredients except for the bicarbonate of soda in a saucepan and place on low heat.
- Stir until all the sugar has dissolved. Raise the heat slightly so that it bubbles, and stir occasionally until you cannot feel any sugar at the bottom of the pan.
- Take off the heat
- Add bicarbonate of soda and stir
- Watch what happens - it should all froth up with bubbles in a pan
- Pour out into your tinfoil sheet
- Allow cooling

ReplyDeleteIt would have been really cool to see a photo of your hokey pokey disaster! Did you have fun trying to make it anyway? have you tried again at home? I am going to try and make it with my daughter! Are you able to tell me what went wrong with yours so I don't make the same mistakes? :-)
