There are criminals crawling Aotearoa. New Zealand is not the safe country we like to think it is. There are gangs, robberies, attempted kidnappings and much more.
There are a lot of gangs in our ‘peaceful’ country. Gangs are the centre of criminal activity in New Zealand. For example, the rivalry between the ‘Mongrel Mob’ and the ‘Black Power’, drug trading and they are armed with weaponry. Gangs are a large threat to New Zealand.
Robberies are frequent as well. There are always gas stations or liquor store robberies on Police Ten 7. For example, there was a dairy robbed last week and the intruders were only taking cigarettes, probably because cigarettes are becoming high-priced. So robberies are occurring all the time.
Attempted kidnappings is a very touchy subject. Pedophiles have tried to take young children from their schools. Police have even increased their presence because of it. I have heard of failed kidnappings from around my local area and it worries me because of my little sister. Attempted kidnapping shouldn’t be a common thing in the newspapers.
As I was saying, New Zealand is not the safe country we like to think it is. The gangs, robberies and kidnapping should be warnings to us all, to look after ourselves whenever we're out. Who knows when something may happen to us.
