This will only be used if cloning gets accepted by society and the government. Some countries even banned the use of cloning for the purpose of producing human babies. Most scientists have agreed that cloning will work on humans as well as animals. (Eg; 'Dolly' the sheep, the first cloned animal.) However researchers have no interest on cloning humans.
At the moment there have been 2 bouncing monkeys that have been cloned. Zhong Zhong and Hua Hua. Heres what, Director of the institute of Neuroscience at the Chinese Academy of science, Mu-Ming Poo said about cloning -'I would think that society, the general public and the government will not allow the extension of application of these methods from non-human primates to human'. There goal for cloning animals is to introduce genetic mutations of the same sort that cause human diseases, such as Parkinson's.
My personal thoughts on cloning is that it shouldn't be used but only in desperate measures. Like cloning a army so family don't have to risk there lives is very bad if it falls into the wrong hands.
Hi Michelle. What an incredibly interesting and informative post! Not only did you show your in depth research skills but you conveyed what you learnt in your own words. I completely agree that cloning has the potential to be very dangerous if in the wrong hands but nonetheless the process of how it occurs is very intriguing. Great job!
